Zack Veasey - General Manager
Zack has been a class “A” member of the PGA since 1986. He has been affiliated with Hillandale Golf Course since his early teens, becoming an Assistant Professional in 1982, and then Head Professional in 1989. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in Political Science. Zack has been selected as the National Merchandiser of the year in 1992 and again in 1999. He serves on the board of directors for the PGA of America, and also serves as a consultant to the Nike Golf.

Karl Kimball - Director of Golf
Karl got hooked on golf early in life. He designed a three-hole golf course at age six because he didn't meet the age requirement at his local public golf course. He lettered all three years at New Philadelphia High School in Ohio where he became the school's first regional champion. His college golf was played at Malone College in Canton Ohio where he was the Mid-Ohio Conference champion. After two years and a knee injury in the dead of winter, he opted to move south. He decided to call home Tampa, Florida and the University of South Florida. Karl stayed in Tampa for 18 years and became a PGA member in 1984. He played as a member on the PGA Tour and the Hogan/Nike Tour for six years beginning in 1989. He has served as the Tournament Committee Chairman for the Carolinas Section PGA and is currently the Secretary of the Section. He has been a featured speaker at the Carolinas Section PGA Winter Seminar and at PGM programs such as Campbell University and Coastal Carolina University. In 2003, he became the Golf Professional of the Year for the section. In 2004, he won the Bill Strausbaugh Award. Karl has also devoted time to needy organizations such as the Women's Shelter and the Guardian ad Litem program.

Fran James - Head Golf Professional/Class A LPGA Member
Fran James has been in the golf business for over 18 years. Born and raised in Durham, she started playing golf at 6 years old. Living on the golf course at Willowhaven Country Club, she was the first girl to play for the Northern High School golf team. She played golf on the Marshall University golf team and was team captain in 1982. She has been an instructor for Peggy Kirk Bell “Golfari” located at Pine Needles in Southern Pines, NC, since 1995 and continues to teach LPGA USGA Girls Golf Program. Fran continues to grow the game of golf by participating in Play Golf America, the Special Olympics, Women's Week, Bring Your Daughter to the course and teaching beginner's classes for women at Durham Tech. She is the tournament director at Hillandale Golf Course and currently serves as a consultant to Callaway Golf. Click here for lesson information.

Roy Clark - Golf Course Superintendent
Roy has been a staff member of Hillandale Golf Course for the past 36 years. He was born and raised in the Durham area and started his career as a mechanic at Hope Valley. He began at Hillandale Golf Course in 1971, as the mechanic, and even though he was promoted to the position of Superintendent in 1982, he still needs to get his hands on wrench. Roy annually has a hot dog cookout at the maintenance facility where his wife supplies “World Famous” chili. He does this just to say thank you to our customers and friends.

Jameshia “Mesha” Levister - Assistant Golf Professional
Mesha comes to us from Fredericksburg, Virginia as a PGA apprentice. She played four years at Belleview High School in Belleview, Florida and was the captain of the Lake City Community College golf team. She transferred into the North Carolina Central University and was the captain of the men's golf team. She won the CIAA Rookie of the Year in 2001, and in 2004, Mesha was crowned the Virginia State Women's Amateur Champion. That year she garnered the Player of the Year honor as well. She represented the state of Virginia in 2005 for the USGA Team Championship. In June of 2006, she joined the professional ranks of the PGA as an apprentice and is currently working toward full membership.

John Brown - Assistant Golf Professional
John comes to us as a native of Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Southern Durham High where he played all four years on the varsity golf team and was chosen All Conference the same four years. John's junior and senior years found him All State. He graduated from San Diego Golf Academy in April 2008 with an Associate Degree in Business where his studies have prepared him for a career in the golf industry. While attending San Diego Golf Academy , John took great pride in assisting with the Boys and Girls Club of Myrtle Beach and the Special Olympics. In August of 2008, John will be eligible to begin his apprenticeship in the PGA of America where he will be working to attain full membership status.

Joe May - Assistant Golf Professional
Joe comes to us from Campbell University 's Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program. His golfing career started in Florida where he lettered in golf his senior year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland , Florida . He came back to his native state of North Carolina to pursue a career as a golf professional. While enrolled at Campbell University in Buies Creek , North Carolina , Joe served as President of the Professional Golf Management Student Association in 2007 where his studies prepared him for his career choice. He also represented Campbell at the Carolina Cup Matches in 2006 and 2007, where the best players from each PGM School gather for a team competition. Joe graduated Cum Laude in May of 2008 and became a Class “A” Member Professional of the PGA of America the same month. His interests are merchandising and instruction.
